Question:
I have reached a plateau at 2 1/2 months post. Help!

I have lost 54 pds. I have not lost any in 2 weeks. I have started areobics and increased my water and still no movement from that darn scale! What can I do to jump start my loss again! I am eating protein, protein, protein and still this! ARGH!    — peggyp (posted on June 20, 2003)

Give it time. You have lost a huge amount of weight in 2 1/2 months and your body just needs to adjust. It sounds like you are doing everything you should be doing, and you will get off the plateau. It's very common to plateau at this point post op.

RELAX! Your body knows what to do. I don't feel that is a plateau, 54 pounds at 2.5 mo is above average. Personally I weighed weekly but only took the monthly amounts in to consideration. Make a chart and record the monthly amounts and you will start to see a pattern. Congrats so far!

I'm at 3 months post-op and have lost 52 lbs. and the same thing happened to me. The scale didn't move for 2 weeks. I increased excerise, decreased carbs, increased water and that made a difference. I agree with another post that the body needs time to readjust to all this. Good luck!

54 pounds at 2.5 months is awesome. I'm down 54 in 3 months. Read my profile for my plateau in month 2.

I've NOT EVEN lost that much weight yet and I'm 5 months post op! I've lost just about 50 lbs. You have to give your body time to adjust to everything. It's frustrating and sucks, but that's just the way it goes. Your body has to catch up to you every little while and the scale won't move. But, I'll bet you anything that if you keep track of your measurements, you'll see movement there!
