Question:
Where can I get a distal RNY real cheap?

I know that I will have to split bill since I will need my gallbladder out. But I can only come up with 5000.00. Anyone know of Doctors inside or outside the US who do this cheap?    — [Anonymous] (posted on July 27, 2001)

My surgeons fee here is $4000.00 you have to pay half down and the rest in payments if you are self pay. I know the hospital bill for my friend here ran about $10,000 though..which is still cheaper than most...although she had just the rny did not have insurance to cover cost of gallbladder surgery

You don't say where you are from, but here in Oklahoma Dr Russell Hanan in Oklahoma City said that he could do a split with the gallbladder surgery and the surgery would cost me a little under $5000.00.

I have one answer, the old addage, "you get what you pay for". Try your best to find a good surgeon with a payment plan,than to go the "cheap" route, This is your life we are talking about. Take care and best wishes.

Many, many doctors will accept payment plans. All you have to do is ask. But, don't be so desperate that you would risk your life with "cheap". I hope you find a reputable Doctor who has a payment plan. Good luck to you in your search!!!

Can you define distal? How distal? What kind of ins will be helping out? Do be sure you are certain of your terminology before you leap up on a table without being sure you & the doc are on the same page, OK?
