Question:
Does Insur cover revisions???

I met a lady who had VBG and has had alot of vomitting lately. She is wanting to have a revision, Has insur. covered this for anyone?    — [Anonymous] (posted on April 11, 2001)

I imagine many do. Its based on medical necessity just as the initial WLS surgery typically has to be. Good luck.

Hi! I am pre-op, date scheduled, but I will tell you what my insurance company says. In my approval letter, there is the following statement: "Benefits will not be provided for subsequent surgery for complications related to a covered surgical procedure for morbid obesity if the complications arise from noncompliance with medical recommendations regarding the patient activity and lifestyle following the procedure." To me it says that it won't pay for any surgery (including revision) if it is deemed "your fault"--notice I used quotes there--not trying to place blame--I have no clue as to what criteria they would use for this. I have BC/BS of Alabama.
