09-06-03 - A new development. My company is changing insurance providers. We must make our choice of plans by October 31, 2002. We can select to stay in the plan we now have or switch to a PPO or a CDH (Consumer-Driven Healthcare) plan. The CDH is a new option with which I am not very familiar. However, in looking at providers and researching the in-network surgeons, both of the doctors I am considering are listed. If anyone has more information about Definity Health plans, I would love to have your insight. It's a huge decision, at this point. I know that I want to leave the plan I have now, as there are NO WLS surgeons in my present network. I just want to tread carefully, and not get into a new and different set of problems.

Just an update. I am continuing my journey with persistence and stamina. I'm reminded of the words of an old friend, "Where there is no struggle, there is no strength." At my primary care physician's direction, I will have a sleep study done on September 22 for suspected sleep apnea. Then on October 7 I will attend my first information seminar for WLS, in Atlanta. That seems to be an eternity away right now, but putting it in perspective: this time next year I expect to be past WLS and well on my way to a "normal" weight. This site has been an encouragement to me as I watch other's progress. Reading each story and individual post adds to my knowledge about the procedure, but also gives me the motivation needed to "keep on keeping on."
