Hi everyone! I'm doing great! I've moved on to soft foods, and in a few days will try most 'regular' foods, except rice, beef, chicken and breads. I've had one really disturbing episode of dumping...from eating cream of brocolli soup at B.B. Brinks in Old Sacramento! It was very good, only ate about 2.5 oz, but boy, within 10 minutes I was sweating, fatigued and gagging (dry heaves)...not something I wanna repeat! I guess it was made with real cream, or it had sugar! I don't know? I've lost (on my scales) 23lbs.!! I go back to Dr. Higa on the 17th. He is such a great doctor! I told him that I haven't been able to eat so many different foods for almost 12 years, it's a little scary to try them now...he said, 'that is why you had this surgery!'...and added 'isn't it exciting?'...he also reminded me that he will be my doctor forever!! And will help see me to goal!! Huzzah!! Hope all is well with everyone...best wishes to those just starting this journey, and continued success to all!!

Well, I'm back!! OH >>>DRUMROLL PLEASE<<<< I've lost 14 pounds in ONE week!! That just don't seem natural somehow! :) I got home on Sunday afternoon, but really have been so busy and restless, that sitting at the computer only lasts minutes...and I wanted to be sure to have enough time to get most my very scattered thoughts in print! I was told my surgery had double the risks going in...well it took about four hours!! They obviously came out and told my family I was okay half way through, cuz originally it was only supposed to take 2 1/2. I didn't have any major problems afterward, the pain in my tummy area became less and less as my back and neck pain worsened from laying in that hospital bed though! It made it very easy to get my walking in!! I would unplug my own machine, go potty, and literally walk 'around the block', although it really is in an oval shape. Right now I am having a problem tho', I tried to take my allergy tablet, I broke it in half (my smarter, quieter self saying that extended tabs desolve slowing in the STOMACH!!), tried one half, URPED...settled down, figured I'd taken in too much water, cuz even in half it was twice the size of the little anti-nausea meds they gave me. Well, when I started 'trying' to throw up, I called the doc, they said I should NOT have tried it...duh...I'd already figured that out! :P So, I have to go to my local doc to get my allergy shot and see if they have dissolvable tabs, or liquids for me...I keep choking on sinus and coughing!! OUCH!! Well, I'm just waiting for my hubby to come back with the car so I can go get my shot...I'm seriously thinkin' about getting a medical alert tag, any ideas?? Hey all, this is Gingi Edmonds, Suzi's daughter and she wanted me to post here and let you all know that everything is going great! The surgery went smoothly... lasted 2 1/2 hours. But everything went great and she'll be home in a couple days!
