I have a special thanks for my Angel with golden wings. Millie was with me through it all and even though I don't really remember much, I know my family fell in love with her. I know a great friendship and bond will grow forever.
I want to thank each of you for your prayers and positive energies.
My surgery went well even though I had a few rough spots but I hurdled them. I had to have a blood transfusion(3pnts) due to blood loss from where they couldn't find it, but it was gone.
I have to admit though, that I haven't experienced any vomiting, nausea, dumping or much pain. I suppose my chronic pain syndrome diminished any such pain from the operation. The ICU staff were fantastic and gentle.
I had a greenfield filter inserted the night before surgery because I have had previous blood clots and Dr. Marien didn't want to take any chances. (He's great) .
I've been home now for 2 weeks I believe and I'm eating soup, scrambled eggs(1) oatmeal, baby food (fruits veggies and meat) and of course, my sugar free ice cream. The ice cream is the only way I can get all of my medication down without gagging. I take quite a number of meds besides what Dr. Marien prescribed. I have to say that I" m never hungry and I have learned to listen to my stomach as to my eating quantity.
I weighed in at 282.3lbs on June 10th and as of June 24th, I weighed in at 272lbs. I actually lost 17 lbs according to Dr. Marien. I'm very happy to lose the weight, but don't get overly excited. I had a dream that I went for a 1year checkup and when I got weighed I didn't lose an ounce. weird huh!
Well, I'll say adieu for now and send more later as I progress.
Again, thank you all for your support and friendship...Debbie
