I am so angry!!!! I thought by now I would have had my surgery and would be on my way to being healthier and happier, but that isn't the case at the moment! It is a run around that Blue Cross is doing. It could be too, that BTC in Langhorne, where I hope to have my surgery just opened in Mid September, 2002. I have called my patient counselor, and she is just as frustrated as I am!!! BC/Personal Choice is holding us all ( facility and patients alike) hostage in my book. At this point, my depression is high as well as my anxiety, and I am so despondant right now. My husband is so concerned for my state of mind, that he wrote to Senator Santorum for some assistance. I have gained so much weight in the past few months. I am now up to 286 and I am so afraid that I will not make it to see surgery! What BC is doing now is trying to get in network status for BTC....My question is why now? Why couldn't they do that when they were at the facility on October 8th to give the facility the medicare number they needed??? So far the only patients having surgery at BTC, Langhorne are those with insurance other than Blue Cross. I am getting very discouraged at this point. If anyone has any words of encouragement, please email me personally. I have to believe that I will have surgery soon..when? I don't know... Thanks for letting me vent!

Well, I am still waiting for a surgery date. BTC cannot do anything until a Medicare number is received from Blue Cross. Blue Cross says a number has been issued, but BTC cannot schedule any Blue Cross patients until they have the Medicare number in hand. Blue Cross was out to BTC October 8, 2002 for an unannouced Quality Assurance survey, and BTC passed with flying colors. From that date we were told it would be from 4-6 weeks for BTC to receive the medicare number. I hope to have some good news within the week. Thanks to all who for your support! Until next time, Gang!

Good luck on your coming surgery. My prayers are with you, and hoping for an uneventful surgery, and a speedy, painfree recovery. Keep your focus on healing. Make sure you walk, and keep up your breathing exercise. YOU CAN DO THIS! See you on the other side. PS. If you check out my web page, be sure to sign the guest book there. Thanks.

Cathy~ I hope you are doing well. If you haven't already you should hear something from BTC soon as they have all their approvals from BCBS. Let me know if you need anything. I was BTC Langhorne's very first patient and would love to answer any questions you may have or just to talk sometime if you need someone to talk to. Please feel free to email me anytime. God bless!

I find out NOW, that the date of October 30th isn't my surgery date. :( I am waiting for BTC to receive a Medicare number from Blue Cross before I receive a date. Thank you to all who have signed my card so far...It is very appreciated. As soon as I get the "official" date, I will let you know. The wait is very difficult for me, but having your support does help!
