Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

For as long as I can remember I have always been bigger than the people i was in the same age group with. I weighed 305 lbs at the end of my junior year in High School, coach told me "Willie DONOT show up to play football next year at that weight". So i kinda dieted for the summer and played my senior year at 270lbs I struggled with my weight from then on in 1989 i checked into the "Rader Institute" for eating disorders. I was in there for 6 weeks and i was losing weight so fast that my diet was raised everyday to slow down my losing. I checked out after 6 weeks after losing 65lbs. after that i continued to gain until i had ballooned to 768 I discovered Dr Fobi throught a lady friend that had seen him on TV I called and the rest is history.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

the worst thing is the stares and rude comments that people (adults) will make the noises the laughter the snickering the pointing Thats the worst part other than a restaurant that has real narrow chairs
