What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

being tired all the time. nothing fitting. and flying in a plane

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

crossing my legs. climing the staires with out pain in my hips and knees

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

my sister. Not for me

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

I was tired of being tired. I wanted a better life

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

Great. The staff was great. I was their for 6 days. lip moistriser

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

no

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I was on cloud nine. My fatherinlaw passed so I had to push back my surgery date. So I was on an emotional rollercoster. Would I do it again? yes

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

my frist week home I was up and moving with care. I needed no pain meds. I took the stairs slow and tryed to recover. You will bee a little tired.

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

about 1 hr. I did not

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

so far I have been just trying to get in as much proteion as possable. fatty foods things with a lot of sugar. So far I have not had a craving for anything.

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

slow but moving, each day a little better

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

flintstones vitamins and viactiv

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

I have not had any of these side effects yet and hope not to

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

the wating

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

Im going to the support group meeting every 3rd wendnesday of the mounth. the info you get their is great.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

My scar is 4 inches long. yes
