Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

my stress leval was high. I was joing TOPS boy was that silly. I tried powders, pills, starving, grapefruit diet, water diet, skipping meals. I was sad and depressed and feeling bad about myself. No matter what my husband said (even though it was supporting) didn't help. I would loose 4 lbs it 5 months. I was sluggish, and I didn't care what I put in my mouth.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing was not having fun with my daughter. She wanted to go to the park and my words were "No mommy is tired" I only went to the bathroom. I was made fun of all my life. I couldn't sit in movie seats,or ride the bus,or walk any where without stoping and heaving, gasping for breath. And all the cow noises and calls from thin people. Could't go to a restraunt, too fat, People staring at me. Not confident about my self. Intamcy with my husband was hard. He is wonderful. Being stuck in the house because I was heavy and was too tired.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Spending time with my precious little girl. She is my life. I want her to have a mom that does things with her, not tell her i can't do something because I am fluffy. I want her to have fun and know I am here for her That is what I enjoy. seeing her face smile and hereing her laugh. The good things in life.
