What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

ALWAYS PROVING MY SELF IN A JOB THAT EVEN THOUGH OBESE ALWAYS DONE A PROUD JOB PERFORMANCE

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I STILL HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND HIGH GLOUCOSE READINGS , DEALING WITH SEVERE ARTHRITIS IN HANDS, FEET AND KNEES. IN A LOT OF PAIN...

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

I STARTED CHECKING INTO IT IN 1999

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

HAD SURGERY ON 12-18-02 CAME HOME 12-20-02 SPENT NIGHT IN INTENSIVE CARE WITH SOME BREATHING PROBLEMS WITH SEVERE SLEEP APNEA, MY FAMILY WAS WORRIED IF IN A REG ROOM ON MORPHINE I WOULD QUIT BREATHING..

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

NONE

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I STAYED ON LIQUIDS 1ST MONTH WAS NAUSIATED TRYING ANYTHING ELSE. AT 2 MONTHS STARTED TRYING REG FOOD DID GOOD ON IT..DAIRY PRODUCTS STILL GIVE ME SOME PROBLEMS.

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

I DID NOT HAVE ANY.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

JUST 6 TINY HOLES ON SIDES OF BELLY AND BELLY BUTTON

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

VERY WORRIED ABOUT LOOSE SKIN I DONT HAVE INSURANCE, IT RAN OUT ON 03-01-03 IF WOULD NOT OF HAD TO FIGHT CIGNA FOR 10 MONTHS I COULD OF PROBABLY HAD A TUMMY TUCK BUT THERE NOT STUPID THEY KNEW MY COBRA INS ENDED 2 MONTHS AFTER THE SURGERY
