Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

i have been bigg all my life i was into sports all growing up and i was active that way well when i got out of school i quit doing the sports and so i lost all my ambition to work out and stay some what active i wa the littlest kid in my class wheni started school in pre k and was the biggest in the school when i left 13 years later lol i had my ups and downs with weight loss but i would all ways revert back to my eating and i had to do some thing i was 455 i was still kinda in good health i thought so i just blew it off i had a job and was werking and i needed money so i went to get a physical for a job that i wanted and the lady said i had high b/p and sugar well that kinda scared me because my dad has diabetes and so forth so i had a friend that was on my butt about comning to a meeting and thats when the adventur began

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

was not being able to fit into some chairs tables and so forth cars lol

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

dance sitt allmost any were i want and be comfortable and not sweat to death

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

i found out thru my mom at first along time ago but was chickin so i just dropped it then a friend of mine tammy and her mom they got me hooked so i went one night and here i am

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

i was there 4 days hated the first night i was sore but atleast i woke up the most important thing to bring is ya self lol but just like socks and umm whatever toletries ya need there deoderant stinks and dosent work lol

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

just hypertension and diabetes took med for them and i am all done taking meds now

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

i feel better now i am down 110 pounds so i can run and play i am happy i do have my bad days were i am sad but i just look at my self and go on i cant say that for all because this sugury effect people differnt so its a ride with soem turns and hills

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

i go to 2 groups they are both very very help full if u can get into one and find some one there that can help u then go for it they know what u are going thru to extent so they can help soem body will allways tell ya some thing that u dooo not wanna here

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

ite like 7 inches long and it slpit open once and had to repack it but outher then that they are doing fine

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

i think that i am on one right now as of 03/20/03 but will lose soon i hope

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

yes they are allways complement me now lol
