Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I tried everything like weight watchers, Jenny Craig, slim fast, even PhenPhen you name it I tried it nothing worked, I ready to give you on hope, and life until I was introduced to the gastric bypass surgey

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

not being able to play with my kids, please my family

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

run and play with my kids

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

went to the doctor for a checkup and he opened this whole new world to me and I thank God for him each and everyday

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

I didn't have a problem with getting approved for the surgery because through the years I tried so such to loose the weight and I just wroted down everything I did and it was approved

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

I stayed in the hospital for 4 days they made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed I brought pictures of my husband and kids, comfortable footies, and my personal hygene kit

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

I didn't have any complicatons, it just felt like I did a lot of crunches.

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I was so ready i prayed everyday

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

alot of things that I use to crave I didn't want any more

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

I have several friends that had the surgery too and we all support each other.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

I have 5 small cuts that you can barely see

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

my weight goes up and down and that scares me

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

Oh hell yea!!!!!!! i get alot of beautiful compliments now my husband can't keep his hands off of me........but my children.......they tell all the time mommie you look good!!!!!!!!
