Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I had tried everything. I knew that if i didnt do something i wouldnt be living much longer

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Ever thing was to me my looks and not being able to be active.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

walking , working out, and riding a bike.

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

My aunt had it done when it first started. and i knew this was my only answer.

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

I did wonderful ecept i lied to the doctor and said i had quit smokeing and i hadn't. The nurses and staff was wonderful to me. They have better hospital in Birmingham than in Tupelo, that is for sure. I have no reason not to choose this hospital again for anything.

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

I couldnt breath very well, but they did a great job getting me back on the right track.

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I didnt have any , I done wonderful.

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

I have friends online as well as my family. they have been the greatest at helping me.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

It is not bad at all. i can wear a two peice bathing suit with no problem now and feel great about myself.

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

i did go thur one but i went back on my jello and water and i have lost 5 more pounds a total of 68 all together.

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

Oh yes , i am slim and they dont look at me like i know they can do something about there weight.
