Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

food has always been my best freind..when im happy i eat sad i eat ..food was just a joy i go on diets but as soon as something ticked off in me i was back to eating bad things again

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

the way people look at you and the way my health was deterioting

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

still in begining of post op cant say for sure

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

my pcp and i thought it was a miracle

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

there was no problem at all i was very lucky my health insurance approved it on the first try

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

i was a basket case..but he was really nice knew i was nervous and explained the procedure to me also explained that this was a commitment

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

after years off losing gaining back i had it ..my health was starting to be affected by the weight

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

the hospital was very clean..the nurses from pre-op to surgical floor were very caring

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

my incesion opened up just taking care of it to make sure no infection

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

just tired

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

my surgewon has a monthy support group it helps but i come on line evryday to here for support

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

a scar is a scar i have a few to me no big deal..i had c-section ..hysrectomy..gallbladder whats one more

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?
