Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have had the hardest time not eating junk food like chips tec.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The lack of energy and my health was failing me.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

walking with out getting out of breath , having more energy.

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

A family member i know had it several years ago and had success with it

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

IT was fairly easy and i had no problems

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

my first visit was ver informative and i felt the surgeon was very competent . he showed empathy and explained the procedure very well i was very comfortable

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

My extremely fast rising blood pressure . i was so afraid of stroking out at a young age

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

I followed the recomendations of my doctor

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

Just the fear of dying

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

Some were very supportive and others were not

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?

She was very supportive

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

It was a good hospital stay i had wonderful nurse that took very good care of me

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

None other than the pain meds made me extremely sik to the stomach

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

Anxious

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

Difficult

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

25 miles

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

Large copious amts of food and no sugar

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

VERY minimal

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

Muktivitamin , iron , b 12 , vitamin a

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

Hair loss , but only a minimal amt

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

Recovery , and learning new food habits

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

The hospital i went to has a extensive follow up program . they talk to you about the good and bad changes and really give sound advice to be successful in the future

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

I had laparoscopic sugery so they are almost invisible

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

well right now im at a plateau and i only have 15 more pounds to loose , but ive not reached 1 year yet so i may still reach it
