Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

tried every diet that there was.Have been FAT for so long. Didn't want to buy clothes or go out at all due to my weigh

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not being able to find nice clothes.an having back pains all the time.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Not having the back pains an getting off my high blood pressure meds

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

checking on the internet an did lots of research.

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

Had no insurance paid cash

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

Great . Listen to what the dr tells you to do

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

Tired of the back pain an being FAT.

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

Lapband awas all that I considered as I don'tlike gastic bypass

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

I really had no fears because I was so ready to get this done

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

My family is very supportive . The main person I had to make happy was myself.

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

stay was very nice was there 2 nights , three days. Bring a book an a great attitude.

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

Had no complications at all.

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

The hardest thing is to remember to eat slow an I've had to make myself eat as I'm never hungry.

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

Drove to Mexico about 400 miles.Doesn't affect aftercare at all

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

At first I was on liquids only.Soup is now my best friend. Bread of any kind I can't eat ay all.Any hard meats or stringy meat I don't do well with.

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

I just took it easy an was back in my office on Monday after surgery on the Tuesday before.

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

I take a chewable vitamin 2 a day

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

Had no problem except vomiting if I eat too fast. I have had to really slow down eating

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

That I waited so long

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

Ther is no scar as it was done lapiscoply.

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

Every one is amazed at the weight I am losing
