Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I COULD WRITE A LONG BOOK ON THIS SUBJECT. I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL MY WEIGHT WITH MUCH DISCIPLINE, SUPPORT GROUPS SOME OF THE TIME DURING MY LIFE. HOWEVER,MY WEIGHT AND THE PROBLEMS IT CAUSED HAVE BEEN THE BIGGEST BURDEN THAT I HAVE HAD IN MY LIFE. WHEN I WAS BORN, I WEIGHED 11 LBS. 13 OZ. MY MOTHER SAID I WAS ALWAYS HUNGRY. I'M SURE I HAVE LOST AND GAINED AT LEAST 1000 LBS. IN MY LIFETIME. I HAVE SPENT A FORTUNE ON EVERY POSSIBLE DIET IMAGINABLE. I'M SURE I KILLED MY METABOLISM WITH ALL THIS CHRONIC DIETING. I HAVE ALWAYS EXERCISED A LOT, TOO. THINGS THAT I COULD DO, LIKE WATER EXERCISES AFTER I GOT OLDER.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?
