Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Losing battle and had tryed every thing and just could not lose the wieght!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not walking well, being in Oxegen 24 hours a day, and needing help to do the little things!

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Being able to go for walks, bending over and toughing the ground with my hand with out bending my knees, and being able to buy cloths with out whating for them to come in from king size!

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

My dotor told me about it!

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

I realy have not had any problem with that out of the Medicare, medicade!

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

Lisen well and under stand its not a quick fix for bad habits!

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

I was told that I would not last a nother 5 years with out it!

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

I wanted something permonent, that would not make a lot of hasel.

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

I am a Christain and I beliave in the all mighty has total control over every thing! That what ever he hands me I will except!

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

My wife dint like it but come to under stand

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?

I am disabled!

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

It was great! and bring a great aditude

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

None to speak of!

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I dint have any problem here whats so ever

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

To be very slow and watch how you move!

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

125 Miles, it make long tripes

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

Sold food was out at first, and thenn I was able to eat soft high proiten foods, it took for ever to eat meat and its stile a problem if over cooked! there was time that you can eat and item one week the next not!

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

Slow at first, but got better in time as the weigh came off!

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

Onesource Ultimate Women's Viamin, And Edge Soy Protein Drink

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

Nausea, and Dumping, and vomiting only came on when I would try something I should not eat, or drink!

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

the long trips to the Doctor!

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

I had some friennds at church that hade been thou this!

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

you realy have to look hard to find my scars

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

When I plateau then I now its time to make change in my diet!

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

yes, they cant beleave the changes
