Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I've been completely miserable for years with my weight problem. I suffered from severe mood swings due to with my low self esteem. I would start fights with my husband. our life was hell.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I hate all the bone, disk and all the health problems. the pain I suffered was the worst thing about being overweight.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

My mother in law had this surgery almost a year ago. At first I thought it was really stupid. I was against it.

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

I was so excited to hear I was approved. I would tell them to hang in there and get ready to fight a good fight.

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

I liked my sergeon from the start. He explained everything in detail. He made me feel good about my descision.

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and said enough is enough.

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

this open rny was the only procedure my sergeon was doing now.

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

very ugly

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

slowed for a while and then picked up
