Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

i was overweight my whole life well since first grade and there was no weight control

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

the worst thing about being overweight is the way people treat you and the way you feel when you in a room full of people and you know your the biggest one

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

i enjoy doing everything i couldnt do before

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

i first found out about bariatric surgery from my stepbrothers dad but didnt think anything of it until i was about 18 years old and then i waited another 6 or 7 years

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

my stay in the hospital wasnt fun but i remeber a guy that had come into the bariatric unit that was telling everyone how well he had done and that made me feel so good i was in the hospital for 2 nights and wasnt ready to leave when i did i just brought my clothes and toothbrush and stuff like that but i didnt even use my clothes i just used the ones at the hospital with all those tubes and wires its so much easier just using theirs

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

i didnt have any complications thank god

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

after i was approved and i got a date i wasnt sure whether it was the right thing or not i kept on thinking of the people who had died and the people that ended up having all the problems but i was lucky and i wouldnt go back for anything in the world

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

well first and foremost i have amos and besides that i had people i work with but i think this website helped me more than they could have

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

the scars are really little most people i talked to say they go away after a while so we'll see

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

im on a plateau right now ive tried the protien and all that stuff maybe after a little longer ill start losing again

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

people treat me so different now people smile say hi ya know just friendly when before they would have just looked at me wierd
