Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

It has been a very emotional rollercoaster ride with yo-yo dieting and failure after failure. I would try diet after diet and could never get long term results. i would often give up and feel like why even bother "I am doomed to be fat".

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Low self asteem, and anegative self image.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Death crossed my mind on several occasions, but I assured my family and friends that if I died I had no regrets. These feelings I think are quite normal. Any surgery that you have death is a risk.

My friends and family supported me 100%. I had a couple of people try to talk me out of it when they learned of somone having complications or dying from this surgery. I felt that the Lord was looking out for me and all things happen because of him so if I died it was my time. I am still here!!!
