Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Well i have always struggled for as long as I can remember . Now after the surgery I feel a million times better and Iam the smallest that I have ever been except for when I was a new born.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The ridicule the taunting not ever fitting in where ever you go .Not haveing energy to do anything not being able to fit in rides in amusment parks. All around depressing

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

walking working out excercising chaseing my kneeses and knephews. Haveing alot more energy

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

My older sister Brenda first I was scared of the unknown .But after I saw my sister come through teriffic I knew everything would be all right.

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

It was a three day stay my most important thing to bring was chapstick and my small pillow for my incesion site. Everyone in the hospital was teriffic

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I just tried to keep occupied and I had a great support system that is always key.

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

Well 1 week out and I was off pain meds and back in my own bed .Pain wise it was really tollerable and I really dont remember alot besides sleeping quite a bit.

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

Arnot has support group meetings once a month and they are very helpful and very important to me.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

yes and it dont really bother me it reminds me where i came from. And thats ok

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

Havent really had any yet.

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

yes not so mean and rude because of my obesity issue.
