Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

It was very hard struggling with on going health issues and being overweight. I hated to be seen in my Navy uniform because I didn't want the Navy to be reflective of my weight gain. People thought that it was because I ate the wrong things and didn't work out. No one understood what I was going through.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Eating in public was the worst thing for me. I felt like everyone was looking at me as if to say, "she should be eating a salad".

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I love being able to find clothes in the stores that look good on me! I have sooooooo many more choices now.
