Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have fought with my weight all my life.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I had no self confidence and hated to buy clothes

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Buying name brand clothes

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

I saw an ad on Tv for the surgery

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

The hospital as great.I was there for a total of 19 days

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

Yes,I had complications.The Drs believe I ended up with an infection.I was in a coma for a week.I was in the hospital for a total of 19 days

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I feel GREAT now and I would definantly do it again!

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

My first few weeks home were rough.I had a health care nurse 2 times a day for 3 weeks to change my bandages and check my incesion

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

I traveled approx 40 miles

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

I wasnt allowed to do anything for a few weeks after getting out of the hospital

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

I take prenatal vitimans everyday

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

I has severe hair loss after surgery but I believe mine was from all the trauma on my body

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

I have reached several plateaus.It is VERY devistating but It will come and go.Hang in there:)

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

People treat me the same as they always have
