Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I've been depressed ever since i can remember about my weight.I've tried everything.with little results or none.tried the medication but it made me sick and i was scared of getting hooked.alot of times i would be doing so good on diet or exercise program but then i would eat something and i would feel so guilty i would just spurge.everything about my family has been center around food.it was a sign of a good time or way of showing love or appreciation.it would be a gift for a birthday or away to cheer me up.It seems like it was so easier to eat out or eat junk food then try to buy something healthy. Its easier to fry food than to bake or broil.so many fast food places.everywhere you turn there it is!!Calling you. if i had a bad day,i would cheer myself up with some delious dessert or trip to drive through.never had a boyfriend until i was 26years old.he left me for some skinny blonde.but i now have someone who loves me for who iam,and he wants me to be healthy.so here i am.

Scared and they did alot of praying for me.Now after seventy five pounds lost they are so happy for me because I'm happy.

I was in the hospital for four days.My insurance approved for four days. The hospital was great. The nursing staff was wonderful and caring. You definitely need someone to be with you.A family or friend. The staff are good but you become very dependent and the staff can't meet your needs all the time. Also I thought I had made a mistake afterwards,I guess because of the pain and the NG tube in my nose.I was scared too.A support person was the best.
