Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

this is my 10 year anniversary of my surgery. my life is so different most people I know cant believe I was ever morbidly obese. It was the best decision of my life and was very scary since my cardiologist told me I probably would die on the table as my heart was so bad.. I didn't die and improved so much after losing the weight I am now working again and have a wonderful life. I was supposed to die many years ago but losing the weight helped my weak heart and a pacemaker helped my weak heart also. I am thriving , food is so unimportant now I eat so I don't get weak. I never clean my plate anymore I always take more than I can eat and that is nice. I got kicked out of the clean your plate club.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

poor health not finding clothes.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

climbing stairs and walking a lot and it is nice that people don't know I am in such bad shape and that I am 62 and can outwork most of the young people.
