Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Ever since I can recall I have had very low self esteem and battled with depression of one sort or another. I usually seem rude to people when I first meet them because I have a hard time of opening up due to my self esteem issues.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not feeling comfortable doing anything. When I go out to eat I feel like everyone is looking at me thinking 'no wonder she's so fat'. It's hard because for me being fat means that I am never comfortable around strangers or sometimes even people that I am close to.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Haven't had surgery yet

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

My brother in-laws aunt had it done about 4 years ago and her weight loss was incredible. And I know that she is now so much happier and healthier.
