Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

i felt very tired, mentally and physically, stayed depressed

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

not being able to walk and enjoy my family, never buying anything new because i was ashamed of my size. my health

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

excersise, buy clothes, enjoy life

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

a friend at work had the surgery and did great, i really wanted it, but my scared

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

not to good, the nursing assistant i had was very bad, i ended up taking care of myself, which probably helped me in the end

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

i was blessed, i had no complications

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

i was very excited,scared. i knew if i wanted to live i had to have the surgery, so it was really no other option

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

my family and my friends

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

fading, i knew it would be like it is now

everything is going as planned
