Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I felt like i was just meant to be over-weight for the rest of my life. Being depressed i would get grumpy with people for no reason and im not that kind of a person.People staring and making comments is really hurtful. avoiding people so that they wouldnt be giving the chance to make a comment to me or the person sitting next to them. not going out with my friends because i didnt want them to have to be seen with me.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing is making sure there was enough room to squeeze between people without knocking them over. Falling asleep easily and not having any energy wasnt any fun either. clothes shopping was a nightmare because i had to drive two hours away to find clothes that fit and they were expensive.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am able to fit into clothes that i have had packed away for at least 5years. i also have more room between me and my steering wheel,so much that i have to lower it to be comfortable!
