Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

when I was in my 20's i always maintained a weight of 140. pounds but each year after 30 I steadily put on weight until at age 52 I weighed 330 pounds!!! Iried all the vatious diets out there but nothing worked. It was very depressing.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I could hardly walk up the stairs in my home without being totally out of breath, i couldn't reach my feet to put on socks, I started having really bad sleep apnea and had to sleep with a breathing machine and the extra weight was killing my knees...I had 2 knee surgerys in 2011. I was out of control!!!

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I just had my surgury in December with Dr. Dan at the Summa Bariatric center in Akron and I can't say enough good about him and his team of professionals that worked with me before and after my surgury.. I've already lost 50 pounds and couldn't be happier. I would do it again in a heartbeat! I love fitting in my clothes, getting compliments and my husband calls me"skinny"
