Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

It's been a long one that's for sure. My weight has been a crutch for me. I hide behind it and it provides me a safety net. I use it as a way to conceal my sexuality and to keep anyone (esp men) from getting too close to me. I am an emotional eater, with stress being my main trigger.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not feeling beautiful and being insecure.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I'll let you know after April 2nd :-)

ARE YOU READY TO PAY IT FORWARD & SHARE YOUR JOURNEY? Your journey will help highlight the many ways weight loss surgery improves lives and makes a difference in our families, communities and world. EACH JOURNEY COUNTS as a voice towards greater awareness.
