Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I've had issues with my weight my entire life. It's been customary for me to skip breakfast and not eat anything until at least 2pm or later. Then would pretty much eat til I was full, wait a few hours then eat again and repeat until bed. Snacking is constant and its usually the fastest and worst thing for me. Add to this lots of soda, cheese, breads, and fast food.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not being able to do some of the simpliest things that healthy people take for granted, like sitting in a chair with arms comfortably. Worrying about everything...is this gonna fit, is that gonna work, can I go hang out and do this or is my body going to hurt? Not to mention paying more for clothing, worrying about what everyone is thinking. Afraid to go anywhere new cause someone will judge me. Everything sucks about being fat.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

surgery planned for Dec 16th 2013
