Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have been obese since as long as I can remember! I have always battle with obesity like most people, and I know it's my fault, as I consider myself a food addict. I love food, I love to eat, I don't think there is anything that I don't like. I have always battle with my weight, I have tried every diet, you mention it, and I have try it, but I realized that I needed to do something to change my life, for my family and most of all, for myself. There are all kinds of diseases in my family, starting with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. And the irony of all of this, is that I am a healthcare worker, I take care of people, but I don't take care of myself, up until now! This is the moment that my life will chage forever:-)

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Aches and pains all over, not being able to share and enjoy simple things in life with my family because I am too heavy!!!

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am only 2 weeks post op, so I am still in recovery, but hanging in there!
