Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I'm sure I'm no different than 99% of other members here... I tried 8+ diets, programs, etc., before WLS was tossed out to me as an idea. I had everything all lined-up to have the lap-band done, but due to acid reflux, I was DQ'd. Yep, bummer. So I opted for RNYGB, and I could NOT be more excited to get this show on the road!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Some part of me hurting every day... be it my knee, foot, back or heart. I just cannot allow that for my life any longer.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am having RNYGB on 9/10/12.
