Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was always the fat kid, I was always told ya you are pretty but you are overweight and it really killed my self worth. It has gotten to the point where I am pretty much a recluse. I don't go anywhere and I lost touch with all my friends. I truely believe having this gastric bypass is going to save my life and make it so much better and worth actually living.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Always feeling like I am being judged. Hearing the little comments when I go anywhere and always feeling like peoples eyes are on me and I ma being looked at as a lesser person because I weigh so much.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I had surgery October 29, 2012. At 1 week out I have lost 12 pounds.
