Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Before considering Bariatric surgery, I never really believed I could ever be truly successful at losing weight. Now I really have hope that I can finally do it. I do understand that as I have been told many times already, surgery is just a tool to help you. It is not a magic fix. I don't want something or someone to do it for me. I just want and need something that will level the playing field. Something like I said that will give me hope that I can lose the weight. That is what gastric bypass surgery is for me...not a tool really...its hope.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

How it controls me now in a negative way. How it keeps me from doing so many things in life.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Haven't had surgery yet. Hope to have it in late Dec 2012-Jan 2013. It is Oct 2012 now.
