Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have always been overweight. I remember at an early age around seven or eight my father telling me to sit down before I knock something over like a wall. Although I am now 43 I remember that statement and my feelings as if it just happened last week. I have always been the biggest person in the room. I have a daughter and my eating habits have been passed on to her. Emtionally I have always felt less than others. I learned how to put on different mask, to appear that things do not matter to me but they do.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight is that I have allowed my habits to rub off on my daughter.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Surgery date is for 11/19/12. Looking forward to it.
