Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have had so many emotional challenges in my life. I think I have been the typical emotional eater. Finding food as comfort and a friend. I ended up with severe diabetes and liver issues. My insurance lowered the BMI requirements for diabetes patients and I am now scheduled for VSG 20 days from now. I am doing this mainly to pray that it will put my diabetes into remission. The weight loss will be a wonderful side effect. I am about 50 pounds overweight with a BMI of 35. I am hopeful that like so many others, this is going to change my life, my insecurities, and help me to live better than I ever have before..here we go!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Broken record here..but ditto to all the other posters here..but for me, personally, putting up with relationships that are unloving and unhealthy just because I don't feel worthy of love..all of this is going to change with this surgery and Gods help!! Amen sisters???? Shout out. Brothers??

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I will post every week after I have my upcoming surgery..with photos of my shrinking and healing...stay tuned!!!
