Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
Hi, my name is Regina, I'm from N.j. I had to make a conscious decision quick on how to stop my life from spiraling out of control, whether I want to eat to live, or live to eat. I tried dieting, it just didn't work for me. I tried almost everything. I almost tricked myself in believing I wasn't fat. My weight kept me on a emotional roller coaster. I wanted to loose weight and when I didn't I would eat more I ate when I was depressed I used food as a crouch. I got a Lapband in 2012, in which helped a little, the weight lost was very slow, and getting stuck by those needles every month was beginning to be a bit much. Now i've made up my mind once again to go all the way, no turning back, and i'm going to share my every experience with my friends before and after. I have a doctors appointment on the 1st to get my update, so i'll be back after that to let you know where I at in this journey. I must add my to date 1/2013 at 289. surgery date 02/25/2013. starting weight 3hundred plus some.
What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?
I believe the worst thing I hated about being overweight is when you want to do things thinner people does and you cant because you think people will make snob comments, or wanting to get on rides at the park but afraid they wont be able to close the lock. Or walking beside your mate and notice how he stares at thinner women. And your health walking being out of breath trying to keep up. Or you at movie and your butt is bigger than the seat.
If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?
Like I said I did have Laproscopic lapband surgery 1 year ago, I lost about 50 pounds. The weight lost is very slow, I was very happy with this success, it actually gave me the courage and the motivation to go further.
