Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I started gaining weight in my 40's and haven't stopped since. I tired numerous diets and even after changing my life style to one of basically eating healthy and exercising at least 80% of the time I still continued to gain weight. I was always hungry and cravings were difficult to control. Being of average weight most of my life I found I hated my body image.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Due probably to my weight I developed high blood pressure and diabetes 2 and when my Dr informed me I also now have a fatty liver this summer I knew I had to do something about my weight. Started researching Weight Loss Surgery and decided on the Gastric Sleeve procedure.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

It is too early to tell what I enjoy most after surgery however at present my clothes no longer fit and are far to large which I find extremely satisfying and encouraging.
