Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have finally decided I'm not blowing up anymore. I went on a holiday with my husband two years ago across the US. I could not walk anywhere. I was angry at myself. I felt sad for my husband and he felt sad for me. I looked for dairy queens, constantly. Or at the very least, the next spot to sit down and eat!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I take care of seniors. I could not bend down to help them with their socks. I could not fit in between the bed and the wall. I was starting to make them afraid of me, because of my size! I love my job and I couldn't keep up. I'm so sad.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Bend bend bend. It's so easy now. Walking is great too! Oh and getting dressed, and hugging. My husband puts both his arms around me and really hugs!
