Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Before learning about bariatric surgery, I sort of embraced the fact that I was a big girl and would likely be that way for the rest of my life. Although I was a size 18-20, I had a ton of confidence and felt very good about myself.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight is the fear that my health would start failing. While I feel perfectly fine, truthfully, I may not stay that way if I don't decide to do something about it.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I would first celebrate a new HEALTHIER me. I would be able to move around with my kids more and of course, I would be able to SHOP!

ARE YOU READY TO PAY IT FORWARD & SHARE YOUR JOURNEY? Your journey will help highlight the many ways weight loss surgery improves lives and makes a difference in our families, communities and world. EACH JOURNEY COUNTS as a voice towards greater awareness.
