Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

A victim of abuse as a child from someone outside my family, to being severely bullied in middle school, to a failed marriage and a series of downfalls, I went to food for comfort, which became a never ending hurtful relationship with food.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Being asked how far along I am in my pregnancy, having children who are innocent ask their parents why is "she" so fat, not being able to fit into the clothes of the style that I want to wear, feeling like I cannot move in my career because of my weight.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Being able to run and play with my son, fitting into clothes that fit my style, being more active with my boyfriend, being able to do yoga.
