Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Since a teen I was always chunky didn't think I was overweight or obese, still don't. I walk around with lots of confidence and love my job and what I do. BUT when I stop by a mirror, I see myself and it always hits me "holy I'm so big!" I'm 5'3 and weight 275. I feel like I have this outer layer that is literally weighing me down. I work in the beauty industry and you might think its all about how you look but I've come to realize that, yes the way you look matters BUT the way you feel about yourself is key.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight is that the weight slows me down. It limits me. It keeps me from going forward at the pace my mind wants to go.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?
