Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Anytime I felt anything, food was the answer. And as I got bigger, I started to feel worse. I tried to tell myself that I was okay with being big and it was just who I was going to be. After I got married I wanted to think about having children. The doctor told me that at my current weight it would be very dangerous for me and my baby if I got pregnant. I decided it was time to do something.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Being tired and sad all the time. Constantly comparing myself to people that I thought were more attractive.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I haven't had surgery yet. October 22nd is my date.
