Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I don't believe I have ever had a healthy relationship with food. Depression, being the overweight funny girl to fit in. I have always tried to be as active as I can, but it was never easy. In 2011 I had my gallbladder removed, the doctor told me on the inside my fat content made me a solid, I had fat hanging off of everything, and I needed to seriously consider doing something about my weight. I have tried every diet under the sun. I've lost some, gained some, ate some awesome food, a lot of junk food. Ate to feel, to fill a void, the list goes on. I have a very unhealthy relationship with food, and when I did get serious about changing my life, I was informed my metabolism wouldn't allow it, my body wasn't in fat burning mode. My only option was bariatric surgery. So the process began 02/13, surgery date 6/4/13 starting weight 275 on dos. Here we go! Lets save a life!
