Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Since I was a young girl, I have fought being over weight..... Food became my friend, because at times.... I felt unloved.... My mother chose favorites, and it was so obvious it was not me . So I ate to find happiness..But of course then she ridiculed me for being over weight.... She has always been thin, and had idea what It like to be over weight. She even went as far as to tell me that I would never find a man, because men don't like fat women....

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I never let it stop me.... I woke up every morning and did my hair, put on my make up.... And faced the world head on..... But I guess the things that was hard was finding cute clothes.....

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Having surgery on 5/23/2013.... And I can't wait...... Even at 53, I'm looking forward to a new me...
