Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I cannot explain in enough words the way I felt about myself before surgery. I still struggle today but I had so much self loathing it was alarming. I couldn't stop killing myself with food and that made me want to end the torture sooner. I never ever felt full and that's what I thought I wanted. But there was definitely a hole that food could not and did not fulfill.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Physically I couldn't do a lot and it was a struggle to move easily. People look and judge. But the worst part is my own hating on my entire self being every day.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Any physical thing that is part of normal life is enjoyable now because those activities like standing sitting getting up sleeping walking going upstairs and down stairs are much easier to do. I love love love to dance and I get so much energy from it.
