Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have battled with my weight since childhood. In my teens I did every crash diet and my mother bought me every diet pill available in Mexico but none of these quick fixes lasted. As I got older and had a child my weight went from 180lbs to over 250lbs by the time I was 25. I was and still Im an emotional eater. My eyes continue to be bigger than my stomach but its a daily battle that I choose to win every single day!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

My oldest daughter at that time my only child looked at me one day and said, "Mommy you are so fat", she was only 4 years old. I remember that night and the following day I cried like I had never cried before. I felt ashamed and was horrified that my only child realized I was bigger than most women.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?
